The Second Domino Falls

by

Yesterday, on our podcast, we discussed Dallas picking up Brendan Haywood, DeShawn Stevenson, and Caron Butler from the Wizards for Josh Howard and Drew Gooden (pretty lopsided in Dallas’s favor when you look at talent).  Well, the second domino is in the process of falling.  With two days left before the trade deadline, ESPN.com is reporting that the Portland Trailblazers will acquire Marcus “Fantasy Stats F’Sheezy” Camby from the L.A. Clippers for Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw.

UPDATE (7:13PM ET): ESPN is now reporting the deal has been finalized.

The jersey . . . it burns us.

Portland is looking to shore up their front court, which has been decimated by their general manager and an injury to Joel Pryzbilla.  Camby makes up with defense, rebounding, and passing what he lacks in speed, athleticism and scoring.  Blake, though an excellent back up point guard, has not been needed since Andre Miller’s arrival to Portland.  Outlaw has been a bench scorer/jacker depending on the evening.

As for the Clippers, this appear to be mainly a cap move.

More to come as events transpire . . .
