The Dallas Mavericks are the hottest team in the NBA. Over the past nine games, the Mavericks have played against and defeated some quality opponents. Members of the hit list include the Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, L.A. Lakers, and Atlanta Hawks. All top teams. The Mavs have taken care of business against lesser teams as well. Charlotte, Minnesota, Indiana, and Miami have all been vanquished. A look at the upcoming schedule shows that things are not going to get tougher for the Mavericks until March 20th, when they will face off against the Boston Celtics. Until then, they face the Kings, Knicks, Nets, Wolves, and the Bulls twice. That’s six wins waiting to be gotten.
Meanwhile, the hottest team in the East looks to continue their five game win streak against the Pistons tonight. The Cavaliers have seen LeBron increase his assist totals greatly in recent games. In the past 13 contests, LeBron has had nine or more assists in nine of the games. He has not scored less than 20 in any of those games. LeBron is averaging 8.6 assists per game this season. That’s 1.5 over his career average.
The Milwaukee Bucks are in the sixth playoff position as of this morning, only a half game behind the Toronto Raptors, who have lost four games in a row. Both face off against lesser teams tonight. Milwaukee plays in Washington D.C. The Raptors will be playing in Madison Square Garden. The Bucks are 8-2 in their last 10. The Raptors are 5-5. Fans of both teams are pondering which is a worse first round match up, Boston or Atlanta.
