Comedy Jokes

by

ESPN reports that Charlie Villanueva tweeted that “KG called me a cancer patient, I’m pissed because, u know how many people died from cancer, and he’s tossing it like it’s a joke.”

Of course, as with all truly hilarious jokes, both KG and Charlie V are correct.  It is an hilarious (because it’s true) and terribly offensive joke.  From now on KG, how about you go with Powder instead?  People THINK cancer patient, but it’s not directly using the horrifying afflictions of others to get inside a guy’s head – a guy you don’t particularly need an edge against.

Man, I can't tell the difference.

And just how does KG think cancer patients feel being compared to Charlie V? I’d be pissed.

    They’re the real victims here.

Some foolishness from Adande. It’s one thing to disparage someone with “cancer patient.” That is a direct attack on the appearance/plight of a suffering person. But to wipe out the word from the sports lexicon is dumb. It’s a medical term, and it’s application can be used validly to express the damage-from-within that certain players otherwise beneficial players, Shaq for example, can do to a team. As a linguist, I’m against this.
