Garnett dominating the playoffs

It’s strange to say and totally unexpected, but Kevin Garnett may be playing the best basketball of anyone in the NBA right now. He’s second overall in Win Share for the playoffs (LeBron is 1st), and he’s really come through in the clutch with big shots.  The Celtics are beating the opposition by a combined 121 points with KG on the floor or over 13 points per game.  Too bad he has no backup to speak of or the team might actually be dominating these playoffs too.

Game by game breakdown of plus / minus below.  Stats pulled from, and let me please take this moment to say that I used to love that site and visit it daily, but it has become a complete mess.  Every page automatically launches a video.  I’m pretty sure the NBA thinks their fanbase is illiterate.

Yeah and he hit his free throws under pressure, and does not wilt (no pun intended) in the 4th quarter.

Lest we not forget a shout out to the greatest winner in any sport of all time William Felton Russell. In the ’69 finals against the Lakers at age 35 he played an astounding 46.1 minutes per game, averaged 20.5 rebounds and scored 11 ppg. Winning his 11th championship in 13 years before he walked away–on top.

And, of coarse, Jerry West was named the Finals MVP

I’m not sure I can hate enough to write a tequila post unless the Lakers and Celtics are involved, but I can try.
