Celtics Take 3-2 Lead With Hot Shooting Bigs

Bass, Garnett, and Steisma shot a combined 22-35 from the field and 13-15 from the foul line. That’s going to be tough to beat. Credit to Rondo for creating some easy opportunities, but some of it is just that the Sixers have no size and every once in a while Boston’s going to hit those shots that they can’t effectively contest. Even the Phili bigs shot well. Phili had a breakout type game from Elton Brand who fired over much taller defenders and made dribble-drive moves like it was 2006 again.

My guess is the team relaxes again in game 6 and loses in Philadelphia and then comes home and finally gets a good shooting night from Ray Allen to take the series. This series could really turn though if Pierce or Allen tweaks existing injuries. It’s sounding more and more like Avery Bradley’s shoulder is going to keep him out for the rest of this series and maybe beyond that. Pietrus still isn’t all the way back. Marquis Daniels hasn’t been himself since he almost died on the court with that neck injury last year. Pavlovic is the worst wing player in the league. By a wide margin. I’d trade him for Adam Morrison right now.

The C’s bench is just gone now, and the margin for error is razor thin. As Phili showed in the first round, they have the heart to seize an opportunity when it’s presented to them.

    Not so good last night

I have nothing to say about last night. That was exactly the piss poor effort I expected. I am a little concerned that without Bradley, and with Allen so immobile, Holiday and Williams may be too quick for us though.
