Despite Not Having to Fill Airtime, Mark Jackson Still Spouts Nonsense

The link to the story is here.

“When you take Michael Jordan and you take Kobe Bryant out of the discussion, he’s as good as any two-guard that has ever played the game.”

Reggie Miller is no doubt one of the harest working two-guards ever.  He’s probably the best-shooting two-guard ever.  He’s one of the smartest, dirtiest, most clutch two-guards ever.  What Miller did not have was a diversified game, or a championship run, or stellar defense.  When ranking two-guards, it’s impossible for me to put him ahead of Clyde Drexler, and Jerry West.  And I’m having a hard time thinking that I would clearly pick Miller over George Gervin, Earl Monroe, Joe Dumars, and Allen Iverson as well.

We absolutely love both Reggie Miller and Mark Jackson here at Double Dribble.  So don’t get it twisted.  But it just ain’t true that he’s at the top of the list.  Where do you rank Miller?

    Good question!

My All Time Shooting Guard list would go something like this:

    Michael Jordan
    Kobe Bryant
    Jerry West
    Dwyane Wade
    Clyde Drexler

That’s definitely my top 5… Then the next group is pretty muddled but would include:

    George Gervin
    Sam Jones
    Ray Allen
    Allen Iverson
    Reggie Miller
    Manu Ginobilli
    David Thompson
    Vince Carter
    Mitch Richmond
    Joe Dumars
